Internal Family Systems Facilitation
In 35 years of dedicated inner work to resolve the effects of early trauma in my nervous system, I have explored many different modalities for healing mind, body and spirit.
Of all the therapeutic and spiritual healing modalities I've worked with, Internal Family Systems (IFS) work rises to the top.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a therapeutic model built on a simple but powerful idea: the mind is naturally multiple, made up of different "parts" — protective parts, wounded parts, parts that step in to manage pain or keep us safe — each with its own perspective and good intentions, even when their strategies create struggle.
At the center of this inner system is the Self: a core of calm, curiosity, and compassion that's always available, even if it's been buried under years of protective patterning.
IFS work is about building a relationship with these parts rather than fighting or silencing them — listening to what each one is trying to do for you, and gradually restoring enough trust and safety that your parts can relax their old roles.
The result tends to be less internal conflict, more self-compassion, and a felt sense of wholeness rather than fragmentation. As inner relationships improve, outer relationships improve, and life begins to feel more rich, light, fun, kind, playful ...
In my work, IFS pairs naturally with somatic practice — since parts often live in the body as much as the mind, and change happens more fully when it's felt, not just understood mentally.
Because I find IFS work to be so beneficial, I have trained as a level 1 Internal Family Systems Facilitator with The Institute for Healing and Awakening, and I now offer IFS sessions for individuals.
